Tasters and Applicant Events

Activities to help prospective undergraduates find out more about subjects, applications and College.

Our Undergraduate Outreach and Admissions Team run events across the year to help interested students find out more about making a strong application, identify which subjects might be right for them, and to get a sense of what Cambridge and College life is like.

We also host school visits, typically for those schools in our Link areas (Sussex, Surrey, Merton, Sutton, Croydon, Mid- and South-Wales). Teachers can join our mailing list to find out more.

Webinars and online Q&A sessions

We hold regular free online live presentations and question and answer sessions for prospective students, covering aspects of the Cambridge admissions process. These variously feature our Admissions Tutors, access and outreach team, and current undergraduates.

This year’s series of online webinars will run on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5-6pm via Zoom. They aim to provide help and guidance to high-achieving students who are looking to apply to academically competitive universities, such as the University of Cambridge. The webinars are aimed at prospective applicants in Year 12 – 13, but teachers, parents and supporters are welcome to join as well.

Each webinar will run twice. The schedule for this year is as follows:

  • Supercurriculars and personal statements: 5-6pm on 14/7/25 and 21/7/25
    • Tips to help your application shine
  • Admissions Q&A: 5-6pm on 15/9/25 and 17/9/25
    • Your opportunity to speak to our Admissions team and get answers to your questions
  • Interviews – STEM subjects: 5-6pm on 20/10/25
    • All our interviews are conducted online. Find out what online interviews involve.
  • Interviews  – Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, 5-6pm on 22/10/25
    • A session focused on what our admissions team are looking for and how online /interviews work.

Please note that we may offer sessions on the same topic twice. The content in repeated sessions is the same so there’s no need to attend more than one.
